While travel is perhaps my favorite thing to write about…

…it is far from the only arrow in my quiver. Throughout my nearly decade-long career in journalism, I have covered practically everything under the sun, including local and national politics, business, education, transportation, entertainment, sports, health, dating, sex, technology, and more.

Whether covering the likes of Tim Kaine or Ivanka Trump on the national campaign trail; keeping a close eye on a jointly-managed fire department with a problematic chief; highlighting a quirky, wild chicken-filled neighborhood in Detroit; or myth busting the plight of “nice guys”, I have always sought to tell stories in dynamic ways while leading with the facts. Follow the links below for a look at my work from over the years.

AskMen

Since February 2019, I have maintained an ongoing freelance relationship with the online men’s lifestyle and culture publication, AskMen. I generally cover topics related to dating, relationships, and sex, but other areas of interest — such as physical and mental health, pop culture, and e-commerce — also land on my docket from time to time.

MLive

Over the course of two and a half years, I spent time as a print/digital reporter in various MLive newsrooms across the state of Michigan. Working for MLive, which is one of the Great Lakes State’s largest media entities, I had the chance to cover a range of topics and events, getting my feet wet in places like Detroit, Ann Arbor, and the greater Grand Rapids area.

The Michigan Daily

During my final year as an undergrad at the University of Michigan, I spent some time acquainting myself with the largest independent student-run newspaper in the country (and the only daily paper in Washtenaw County, to boot). I primarily covered Michigan athletics for The Michigan Daily, but also picked up odds and ends at times, including that time I wrote about my experience being a young father.
