Another Useful Tool for Finding Travel on the Cheap
Making travel affordable is one of the biggest obstacles many people come up against, which is why it’s a good thing there are so many resources out there to find good deals. You probably know about Expedia and Kayak and Hotels.com and all of that jazz — not to mention that cheap flight finding system, Next Vacay, that I was telling you about not too long ago — but just in case you needed another weapon in your arsenal, there is one other site you’ll want to check out.
It’s called Wanderu, and though it can help you find flight and hotel deals, it’s real bread and butter is locating affordable bus and train fares. As the site partners with the likes of Greyhound, MegaBus, Amtrak, Peter Pan, Ourbus, and others, it works much like other deal-finders, cross checking its entire system to snag you the best price. And with more than 10,000 destinations in North America and Europe, you’re likely going to be able to find a deal that works for you.
Have no idea where you’d like to go? That’s okay, too, because Wanderu has a helpful little “Explore” tab that will show you the best one-way fares from wherever you happen to be. Simply enter your location and specify your optimal date and price (if you’d like), and let the Wanderu machine do its magic. A quick search using Detroit as my location, for example, brought up a $10 ride to Chicago, a $54 ride to New York City, a $31 ride to Toronto, and several others — the most expensive option being an $86 ride to Atlanta.
One of the best things about Wanderu is that you never have to worry about booking fees or service fees or any other nonsense like that. They just want to help you get where you’re going, bull crap not included. And in a world full of the stuff, how can you not appreciate that?
Speaking of no bull crap: I don’t have a special discount code to give you, I’m not getting paid to write this, and I can’t promise Wanderu will make all your travel dreams come true. But when it comes to saving money, every option is worth looking into, right? So go ahead: grab their app today and start finding the affordable fares (or flights or hotels or rental cars) that you deserve.
